We are an interdisciplinary group integrating statistical mechanics, soft matter physics, and biology. We are actively growing — see openings below.
I work on the physics of living matter — specifically on how non-equilibrium forces and molecular interactions give rise to hierarchical self-organization, adaptive mechanics, and emergent information processing in biological systems.
My approach bridges analytical theory, computational simulation, and data-driven analysis to uncover universal organizing principles in soft adaptive matter.
We are looking for highly motivated PhD students interested in theoretical and computational biophysics, soft matter physics, and the physics of living systems.
We are looking for motivated postdoctoral researchers to join the Soft & Living Adaptive Matter Lab at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. The position is under the Advanced Postdoctoral Research Programme (APRP) as PDRA-I.
Candidates with a strong background in theoretical/computational soft matter, biophysics, statistical mechanics, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Experience with analytical modeling, numerical simulations, or machine learning methods is a plus.
Send your filled application form (download here) along with requisite documents as a single PDF to postdocapply@bose.res.in. Use subject line: "Application for PDRA Position - #Your Name#"
Deadline: 30th November. · Programme guidelines →
We welcome motivated undergraduate and master's students for research projects in computational modeling and theoretical analysis. Projects are designed to be accessible entry points into the research themes of the lab.
To apply or inquire, please email debsbanerjee@bose.res.in with your CV and a brief statement of interest.
